Nissan has been in business for over 88 years now, spending the last five decades selling a wide range of cars, trucks, and SUVs to drivers across America. While Nissan sold those early vehicles under the Datsun name, drivers soon learned to count on Nissan to deliver excellent performance and technological innovation. That is why you are going to find something very cool very soon at Newton Nissan South, your Nissan SUV dealer: the all-new 2023 Nissan ARIYA. This is Nissan’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) SUV, built on a roomy crossover design. With the cost of gas up around the country, now has never been a better time to consider buying a BEV and achieving cost savings like you could never imagine.

In opera, an aria is a solo sung by a star, and the Nissan ARIYA looks poised to become the star of the growing BEV compact SUV category. It has so many advanced features it is liable to make drivers shout “Bravo!” once they get behind the wheel. If you stop at Newtown Nissan South, you can see for yourself why the 2023 Nissan ARIYA is the future of SUVs. We are conveniently located in Shelbyville, proudly serving all Tennessee drivers who want to get a piece of the future today.

The ARIYA Has a Powertrain That Truly Sings

When you buy a BEV, you can say goodbye to some of the things you’ve gotten used to in a conventional internal combustion engine. Gone are the spark plugs, so no more tune-ups. Cylinders and pistons have been banished, so no more need for engine oil and filter changes. The vehicle runs solely on electricity, so you don’t have a gas tank or need to be held hostage to the ever-changing fuel prices at your local service station. You don’t even need to stop by the service station unless you want to put some air in your ARIYA’s tires or pick up a pack of gum and a cup of coffee. Driving a BEV SUV is truly a liberating experience.

Nissan offers a choice of powertrains on the 2023 ARIYA, each powered by a lithium-ion battery pack securely located in the lower frame of the vehicle. This delivers juice to either one or two AC Synchronous motors on the ARIYA. Nissan offers four different ARIYA trims, powered by an 87-kWh lithium-ion battery. It also plans to unveil five other trims later this year, each with a 63-kWh standard lithium-ion battery that will probably cost a little less but deliver slightly less performance.

The AC synchronous motor on most ARIYA models will power the front axle, delivering up to 238 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. ARIYA vehicles with this motor will have an EPA estimated range of up to 304 miles. The other front-wheel drive models feature the same motor but have a slightly lower range of 289 miles. This is due to their higher vehicle weight.

There is also an available model with Nissan’s e4orce all-wheel drive system. This has a pair of AC synchronous motors, one each for the front and rear axles. This provides a combined 389 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. ARIYA models with this powertrain can give you a range of up to 265 miles.

Reservations for Four!

When Nissan announced the introduction of the 2023 ARIYA, it set up a reservation system for the four initial models. The entry-level ARIYA is the Venture+. This model has an estimated 304-mile range front-wheel drive powertrain. It also has a 7.2 kW Quick Charge Port that allows you to charge the ARIYA either at home using a 110-volt or 240-volt outlet or at DC fast-charging stations around the country. The ARIYA Venture+ is also equipped with Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist with NaviLink, which is a suite of different driver assistance features, together with an onboard navigation system accessed through the touchscreen. This system includes such features as Blind Spot Warning and Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention that will allow you to change lanes safely and easily on a crowded highway.

The 2023 ARIYA Evolve+ adds a number of passenger comfort features to the model. This includes a power panoramic moonroof, heated front and rear leatherette seats, and a Digital Intelligent Around View Monitor, which increases the range of viewing on the ARIYA’s backup camera. This model and the ARIYA Premiere feature the same powertrain as the Venture+ but have a slightly lower range due to the additional equipment. The Premiere takes the Evolve+ package and adds the more advanced ProPILOT Assist 2.0 with ProPILOT Park. This will help you get into and out of parallel parking spaces in your ARIYA.

The sole all-wheel drive model of the ARIYA currently offered by Nissan is the 2023 ARIYA Platinum+. In addition to the dual motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drivetrain, the Platinum+ has Nappa leather seats and a motion-activated, hands-free liftgate. This will help you load your ARIYA if your hands are full with packages.

Nissan has also announced a fifth trim level called the Engage. It will be a front-wheel drive version of the ARIYA and will be listed between the Venture+ and Empower+ models.

Space Is the Place in the Nissan ARIYA

One complaint that some drivers have had about BEV SUVs is that they are small, lacking enough room for passengers. This was due in part to other automakers putting the batter in the trunk or trying to boost range and performance by making their BEV SUVs smaller. Fortunately, you don’t have to make that kind of compromise with the 2023 ARIYA. Nissan has given this model over 105 cubic feet of passenger space, plenty of room for up to 5 passengers to stretch out and enjoy the ride. This shows how Nissan has utilized space efficiency in its design of the ARIYA since it only has a wheelbase of 109.3-inches.

This attention to spaciousness carries over to the ARIYA’s trunk. Most other models in the ARIYA’s vehicle class don’t provide much in the way of cargo space. The engineers at Nissan made a note of this, which is why they gave the ARIYA a very deep 22.8 cubic feet of trunk space. This rivals the number of crossovers and small SUVs with conventional gas engines. If you need more space, simply fold down the rear seat to free up to 59.7 cubic feet of space, which will surely come in handy if you use your ARIYA to carry equipment for work or need to use it when you are helping out a friend who is moving their home.

Stay Connected With NissanConnect EV

The 2023 Nissan ARIYA features a standard infotainment system that will be the envy of every other BEV on the road today. Just like how the ARIYA’s exterior disguises the fact that it has a roomy interior, the ARIYA features a huge infotainment touchscreen that is larger than the ones that come standard on most full-size SUVs and pickup trucks. The standard NissanConnect EV Advanced Drive-Assist Display on the 2023 ARIYA measures a monumental 12.3-inches.

The NissanConnect EV combines key vehicle information like the remaining charge on your lithium-ion battery pack with turn-by-turn navigation, helping you get to wherever you are going in your ARIYA. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, so if you have an iPhone, you can leave those annoying charging cables at home. This will allow you to access your favorite apps while you are out cruising in your ARIYA, while the Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System allows you to make and receive calls without distracting you from your driving. Finally, the NissanConnect EV has over-the-air firmware updates, so your system is constantly being upgraded without requiring you to take your ARIYA in for service.

An Impressive ARIYA to Stand Out in the Opera of Life

Once again, Nissan shows why its Intelligent Mobility is driving innovation in the automotive world. The 2023 ARIYA shows how you can have the performance, fuel savings, and reduced emissions associated with a BEV without having to give up all the features, performance, safety, and creature comforts you desire in a five-passenger compact SUV. Whether you plan to use your ARIYA for your daily Tennessee commute or prefer to take it on long road trips, you will have the roominess you desire with the cargo space you need, making sure no one feels cramped. So, wherever your opera of life is headed, you are sure to get there more enjoyably in a 2023 Nissan ARIYA.
