  • Overview

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is incredible because of everything it gives you for its remarkably low price. The automotive market has seen prices climb dramatically in recent years. So, in a world where some automobiles cost thousands of dollars more than they did not long ago, why not choose a cost-effective vehicle from a manufacturer that has never let value-seekers down? Some drivers thought the Sentra formula couldn’t get any better after over 40 years on the market. However, the trailblazers at Nissan have done it yet again for the 2024 model, continuously pushing the market in new ways and giving consumers an excellent opportunity to acquire the features they’re looking for without spending a year’s salary on a new car.

The 2024 Sentra's starting price of $20,790 is all that some people need to hear to get their attention.[a] Even if you purchase the most premium trim level––the SR––the MSRP is still just $23,880.[a] The selection of sedans under $25,000 is thinner than ever, and the Sentra is the best example of how a manufacturer can make the best of such a price constraint. No matter which of the three trim levels you buy––the S, SV, or the SR––you’ll be blown away when you realize you could have easily spent thousands of dollars more to get a comparable experience from another brand. You’ll be thankful that you purchased a 2024 Sentra instead of any other compact sedan.

  • Performance

A white 2024 Nissan Sentra SR is shown from a high angle on a highway.

    Efficient and Easy to Drive

Your 2024 Nissan Sentra will come with a capable and efficient engine, which is something the thoughtfully priced nature of the car may not suggest at first glance. The powertrain pushing the Sentra forward is a 2.0L I-4 engine paired with an Xtronic transmission. This powertrain delivers decent performance, superb fuel efficiency, and ample acceleration, making driving the 2024 Sentra a smooth and enjoyable experience.

With the Xtronic transmission, the 2024 Sentra accelerates nearly inaudibly and is more fuel-efficient––it’s a win-win. The Sentra, whether you purchase the S, SV, or SR trim, outputs 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. Given the MSRP of the 2024 Sentra sits at a relatively low $20,790, having a powertrain that outputs nearly 150 hp is a bargain, and the same could be said for the torque output.[a] Many drivers who prefer fuel-efficient automobiles to save money find enjoyment in the smooth acceleration the 2024 Sentra has.

The 2024 Nissan Sentra is extremely fuel-efficient because of the combination of a moderately sized engine and a transmission that allows the engine to run at its most efficient speed. The 12.4-gallon fuel tank helps the 2024 Sentra travel over 400 miles on a full tank of gasoline. As for the EPA-estimated fuel-economy ratings, the 2024 Sentra gets an estimated 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. This works out to a rating of 35 MPG combined, making it the second most fuel-efficient car in the entire Nissan fleet.

    Comfortable Seating

The 2024 Nissan Sentra comes with a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat. The driver and passenger seats in the Sentra are Nissan’s patented Zero Gravity seats, meaning long drives will put less fatigue on your body. Nissan worked hard with scientists to bring the Zero Gravity seats to life. If you want a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the SV and SR trims allow you to swap out the standard manual option for a six-way power-adjustable seat. To further spruce things up, these seats also come with two-way power-adjustable lumbar support.

Altogether, Nissan's seats are very comfortable, which is marvelous news because you’re saving so much money by purchasing a 2024 Sentra. Having the option of more high-end seats is also nothing but stellar news for shoppers. The Sentra S has cloth seats, but the SV has premium cloth standard and is available with genuine leather seats. This trim also allows for the addition of heated front seats, which come standard on the SR.

    Premium Aesthetic

Along with the heated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob come standard on the SR, and you can add these features to your SV too. However, if you’re getting the leather-wrapped components, you may as well opt for the leather seats too. As for the SR, it comes with cloth seats that have a sports car aesthetic thanks to lines of orange stitching, and the cloth can be swapped out for leatherette.

If you opt for the Premium Package, this orange stitching extends outwards to wrap around the cabin, unifying the appearance into one cohesive, eye-catching, and jaw-dropping impression for anyone who sits inside it. And, whenever someone is sitting beside you, they can set their portion of the cabin to provide a different temperature than the driver’s side, thanks to Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control. This feature is standard on the SR and available on the SV. All three trims come with an in-cabin microfilter to ensure clean air inside the cabin, even when it's dusty outside.

  • Technology

    Safety Shield 360

It was a long time ago when exciting automotive tech included the likes of power windows, air conditioning, and CD players. Today, tech features have especially shifted towards two aspects of the automotive experience: safety features and infotainment features. Starting with safety features, your 2024 Sentra comes with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of tech designed to keep everyone safe––you, your loved ones, and even the people you don’t know (other drivers and pedestrians on the road.)

The various puzzle pieces that make up the whole picture of what Nissan Safety Shield 360 does to keep you safe include features like Lane Departure Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. High Beam Assist also comes standard, but the more exciting and surprising features that come standard are Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Warning. The reason we say these are surprising inclusions is that you don’t often see vehicles in this segment come standard with the sensors that are required for these types of safety features. This fact is made even more remarkable by the 2024 Sentra’s much more accessible starting price compared to most vehicles.

The tech features for the 2024 Sentra continue with the standard infotainment center. The system found on the S trim isn’t quite the same as the larger eight-inch NissanConnect infotainment center that comes standard with the SV and SR. The SR’s tech includes a few features you can’t get on the S or SV, including a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and additional NissanConnect amenities. The Sentra S infotainment center doesn’t fall too far behind, given it has all of the features you are likely looking for, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an auxiliary port if you wish to use a dedicated MP3 player instead of your smartphone. There’s also Bluetooth connectivity, so if you want to simply listen to music with no wires involved, then you can connect your phone this way, too.

The music quality remains clear and crisp with the quad-speaker setup that comes standard with the Sentra S, but if you opt for the SV or SR, you get six speakers instead. A premium eight-speaker setup becomes available for the SV and SR trims, too. The eight-speaker setup is the best of the three, not only because of the four additional speakers over the base system but also because it was developed by Bose. With this option, your music will come through loud and clear, letting you enjoy your commute more than before.
