Each 2021 Nissan Rogue comes standard with a top-notch suite of standard safety features known as the Safety Shield 360. When it comes to keeping your precious cargo safe on the road, there is no better option than the Nissan Rogue. Included within the Safety Shield 360 are six standard features designed to keep your vehicle on the road where it belongs and out of contact with any other object.
Automatic Braking
To begin, there is the automatic emergency braking technology with pedestrian detection. The idea behind automatic emergency braking technology is that sometimes unexpected things happen while driving, and the driver is not always able to respond quickly enough, so the car does it for them. With automatic braking, your vehicle can sense when there is a potential obstacle around the vehicle and can assist the driver in applying more pressure to the brakes or even stop the car entirely if a pedestrian is detected. In addition to braking, this system can also send you an alert to slow down if you are following too closely to the car in front of you.
Working in tandem with the automatic emergency braking is the rear automatic braking system. This feature scans the area behind your car for large stationary items that you may not be able to see. If the systems detect a potential collision and you fail to react, the system will apply the brakes for you.
Blind Spots
Blind spot warning and lane departure warning are two more technologies that come with the Safety Shield 360 on each Nissan Rogue. No matter how good of a driver you are, it is virtually impossible to keep your eyes on everything at once. These technologies are designed to forewarn you if an unexpected vehicle is in your blind spot when you want to merge or if you begin leaving your lane unintentionally. These technologies are especially useful in avoiding side-swiping accidents. There is also the addition of a rear cross traffic alert that watches your surroundings when you are backing out of a parking space and will alert you if there is a car coming up behind you.
High Beams
Being a good driver is important, and all of the aforementioned safety features of the Nissan Rogue go a long way in keeping you and your family out of harm’s way. However, one safety feature you may not think is useful at first is the high beam assist. This feature can automatically dim the high beams on your Nissan Rogue if it detects another car and turns them back on after the vehicle has passed. This is useful for both yourself in that you don't have to focus on turning your high beams on and off, plus other drivers will be thankful that you aren't unintentionally blinding them at night. It's a win-win for everyone.
Intelligent Safety
While the 2021 Nissan Rogue does have some impressive standard safety features, if you wanted to opt for some advanced features, you won't be disappointed. Higher trim levels of the Rogue will come with some of the Nissan Intelligent Driving systems that take safety that much further. The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning monitors two cars ahead of yours, so if the car in front of the one you are following slows down, you will have more than enough time to react.
Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Intervention work to monitor your position and keep you in your lane whether you are about to hit a car in your blind spot or are just drifting. You can also enjoy all around sonar, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and Traffic Sign Recognition. The safety possibilities seem endless for the 2021 Nissan Rogue.
